The Power of Professional Proofreading

by The DrimTeam

Let’s spell it out. Everyone experiences an awkward grammar scenario at some point in their lives. It could be at school when you’re asked to write the date on the blackboard in front of the whole class, or maybe when you’re writing some details down for a customer and you can’t quite figure out where to place the apostrophe. Either way, it’s nothing to be ashamed of. Some of us just aren’t blessed in the grammar department.

Luckily, there are proofreaders in this world who are happy to help the linguistically challenged. You know those people who are always leaning over your shoulder, correcting your spelling and making your text sound that little bit lovelier? They are proofreaders, and they help the world go round. In this day and age, people rely all too much on their computer’s spell check function and not enough on the human brain. What could be more accurate than a professional? A professional who actually understands the difference between British and American English (we’re looking at you, Microsoft Word).

Take Our Word For It

The fact is, correct grammar and punctuation are important...is important, no, definitely are important. Little problems like this pop up in everyday life, and if they’re ignored, they can make you and your business look not only unprofessional, but let’s face it, a bit silly. After all, there’s nothing more mortifying that incorrect grammar in an obvious place:

A serious piece of writing should always be checked and proofread before it is finalised. A Drimlike proofreader checks for spelling, grammar, punctuation and any other errors (such as word repetition) profusely. As well as all this, they make sure that the style of writing fits the audience well and that all of the relevant aims are reached within the text. They also check that a rich vocabulary has been used. They simply have a way with words, so to speak.

A misplaced apostrophe or a forgotten comma can really change the meaning of a word. In fact, if used the right way, grammar and punctuation can save lives:

"Let’s eat Grandma."
"Let’s eat, Grandma."

So on that bombshell, please don’t forget to check out our proofreading services. There’s still time to save your reputation...and Grandma.
